Poker is commonly confused by many people as being a single-game but, it is the name for a family of betting card games that usually share common hand rankings as well as betting rules. The main difference between different types of poker is the fact that, while dealing the cards are usually dealt in different ways for different types of poker. In some places like smaller casinos aren't even at household games people usually employ different betting strategies in order to outplay their opponents. In modern-day poker, the most common rules between all the variants is the fact that, there is usually a forced bets before an actual hand is dealt.
Among the many different available variations of the poker, they are mainly for different kinds of poker which are popular or all of the world and even played at competition venues.
1 Straight poker- in this type of poker a complete hand is dealt among all the players after which the players take turns to make bets, raises and even reraises. This type of poker is usually known as one of the oldest variations of the modern-day poker game.
2 Stud poker- this type of poker differs from any other poker due to the fact that hands are created from cards that have been dealt to the player facedown cards, these are usually dealt out after each round of betting and one card at a time. Stud poker also has its own variations most common of them being five card and seven card stud.
3 Draw poker- in this type of poker usually five cards or a complete hand is dealt to a player facedown were after each round of betting a player can choose to discard and draw new cards to make their hands winning ones. The most common draw game is the five card draw, as there are many different variations of the draw poker itself.
4 Texas hold-em- this is perhaps one of the most popular versions of poker around the world. This type of game usually involves dealing off two cards face down to each player and after subsequent betting rounds community cards are sold in order to allow the players to make the best hand.
