hmm you need to use exactly 2 cards right? So you have a straight, shouldnt you bet the flop to protect your hand? He might have a lot of outs on you?

Im gonna start playing Omaha when I get back from holiday, march 1st so I better start learning how to play

There is no such thing as protecting your hand in omaha. Well its very hard too anyway. You will need another vacation very shortly after you start playing. It can be very stressfull but I hope you do well.
You seem to be a math guy and Im not sure how much that will help in this game. I really dont know but I hope you can put your skills to good use and have a good vacation

Omaha is completely different from Holdem, it is correct to protect your hands in a lot of spots, but not as necessary as in Holdem especially on the flop where opponent could have so many outs against you it's basically a flip.

Sounds very interesting, looking forward to get into it when I`m back.

For the next 10 days I`ll be racing down slopes on skis
