Now i've seen serveral poker books being sold, the one that attracts me as a beginning hold em poker player is "Winning Low limit hold'em" by Lee jones. Has anyone actually read this book and can give me a review on it before i start buying it? or eitherway .. get me to buy another book

There are a lot of good books out there, what type of games do you play, limit, no limit, Sitngos or tournaments?

i'm a NL hold em player at low stakes.. i sometimes play the DON sit&go's cause of the good odds but overall im still learning about pot odds and stuff like that. so i'd say DON sit&go + cash games.

for NL holdem the best books are:

- professional no limit holdem vol 1 (Flynn, Mehta & Miller)
- no limit holdem theory and practice (Sklansky & Miller)

Gus Hansen's "Every Hand Revealed" is very good because it gives you an "inside view" of how a professional poker player thinks... Gus won the Aussie Millions tourney a few years ago and recorded every hand he played while winning it. Then he expressed his ideas about almost every hand in the book. It's quite interesting.

Sounds like a very interesting book, specially if you play a lot of tournaments

The sklansky books are interesting, but way too heavy into the math. His tournament book is a must read for strategy though

Lee Jones' book is great for players who want to work on their Limit Hold'em game. Super System sometimes is too advance for players just starting out, but Jones did a great job with his book. Harrington on Hold'em is required.
