Do we 3bet or just call? Villain is a tight reg.

He may be a tight regular, but it is still a min raise...and others may be priced in to call. time to isolate and assess the value of your hand. he may have anything from AA to lower pp, AK to A-highX, MSC. I say isolate and test the waters with a 3-bet ($20-25).
22 November 2009 10:25 h
I agree with nobletrhths. You should 3bet him. His minraise could get more people in the pot, besides, he could think you are 3betting him with a wider range since he is aware he made a miniraise. So maybe you induce a 4bet.
Of course this is my opinion and I am not an expert

def 3bet I think, you don`t want to play a multiway pot. If he 4bets you can shove right?

You have to 3 bet right but if/when he 4 bets you and you know he is tight reg is this where your poker software will come in handy?? So many times you see it go back and forth 3 bet 4 bet all inn AA vs KK
I will of course be more than happy to get all the money in pre w KK but mabye the software will show different point of view?? Very curious as I will never fold KK UNLESS mabye you can fold it with some help from stats?

Let's see:

The only hand that will beat you is AA. So you definiately have to 3bet him. But you are worried he will fold and maybe get some extra play when you call this hand? But like others said this may end up, others to get in on it.

For me it is obvious. 3bet his ass

This is a full ring game against an early position opener. What hands will he call my 3bet with and what hands will he 4bet you think//?

hmm I never played FR games, but if he is a tight regular, my guess would be that he would 4bet QQ-AA/AK and call with 99-JJ/AQ.

Question gentleman.. Im always folding QQ and lower to a 3 bet unless I have info that tells me otherwise. Im not really raising with less than 99 and AQ+ Is this very weak of me?

yeah that sounds way too passive, though it depends a bit on what kind of game you play and your position, but check out this
NL 6max chart that should be a good start for cash games.

If I 3bet here, most opponents will only and correctly 4bet AA, KK and AK, which kills a lot of my action. So I decide to call..

I am definetly folding here..Although its a tough fold I have found that if I am able to justfy a fold on the board alone and am facing a raise then reraise all the money is going in and even if by chance I may be ahead..I might have to survive 2 more cards against two players with no heart in my hand. I will wait for a better spot. Its hard because one of them might have a set of threes with no heart and your wayy ahead.
AK could be very likly too. If it was cheaper I would stay in but Im folding here.

either ev1 is afraid to look foolish, or ev1 is out for thxgvn. so here goes my foolish thoughts.

i just dont like the total line of play i see here, for the very reason we here: we are clueless as to where our hand stands. first, i would have reraised Ben preflop. if iblis still reraised and Ben reraised again, time to fold (still preflop)(BTW, b/c iblis did not reraise again preflop, we can almost assuredly rule-out AA for him, he could still have AK or high hearts). if they only called your reraise, or in the odd setting you find yourself in which the way this hand did play out in reality, after Ben's $52 flop bet, i would reraise to test your trips. if iblis raises and Ben reraises, i think you have a hard fold.

with my line of play, you have been saying all along that you have a monster. for them to keep pushing back, you must figure your monster is beat. with your more passive play, they may be pushing back because they feel a weaker hand is better than yours. which is, of course, what we all want.....but this board is too scary to mess with.

i await for wiser guidance.

I have to disagree with that, reraising with hands for information as you're suggesting is generally a bad idea because the price you have to pay to find out you can fold is just way too high.
In this situation I have to agree with you guys though that I should have 3bet preflop, not for value, because getting it in pre is not really what I want to see. Also not for info, but to make sure it doesn't become a big multiway pot in which my hand doesn't play well.

Anyways, I folded flop.
