I think this is a standard 2nd barrel spot, for me at least I guess

uh...i would have checked to peel, remember? but assuming i bet as you did, the pot is at $123. cap is $180. lets figure he felt he had you beat up to now. will that jack scare him? was he on a draw? will capping change his mind (b/c less of a bet is not an option). you know you will lose if you dont bet, but do you want to lose more if he calls? hhmmmmm, $57 risk to win $123. will you be called half the time? i am betting "yes", so i think it is best the wave the white flag.

if you bet 57 in a 123 pot you only need to win 57/180=31.7% so roughly one in 3. Pretty close I think, he could fold an 8, maybe 55-77 or a FD.

I think your getting called here. You min raised and continued half pot on the flop. I dont think he can put you on 99+ after 1/2 pot on flop. Really I think your getting called by alot of hands here. Flush draws will fold but what do you think he has you on here?? I think he has 10s Qs or mabye something really ubsurd like 2s 5s. By him only calling the min raise preflop and not showing any stregth it might be crazy like that.
This seems like a real tough decision but I check. I really think he hit the 10

Japmaster, this is where the odds get strange. you REALLY want him to fold. if he cam call, you are beat. so, as i see it, you are risking $57 to win $123, because there is no way in Hades that you are winning the $180 if he calls.

also, here is a question to show my ignorance (and i have a lot of that) about cap games. if you bet $57 and he calls, then we are over the cap....is the overage split and returned? if so, then you are really only risking $28.50. but you STILL dont want a call.

yeah i agree you are risking 57 to win 123, so if you lose twice and win once, you lose 114 and win 123, so if you win 1 in three times you are already good

good question about the capping btw, hv to take a look at the other handhistories to figure that one out

ok so it seems the cap is per player, so the pot can grow to 360 in this case, which means there is about another $120 left to bet, but the more you bet the more often you need to take the pot down of course, not sure what the optimal bet size would be.

Anyway, I`m curious what are professional has to say about his (and the outcome)

Seat 3: wicky_wawa collected ($120), mucked
Seat 4: holdemsavage1 (button) didn't bet (folded)

Seat 6: Kaskanter (big blind) folded on the River

I have exactly a potsize bet left and the 10 and J don't really frighten me because there aren't many hands in his range that benefit from those cards I think. I believe it's way more likely for him to have some medium hand that he can't call op potbet with on the river. If I could only bet half pot I would've probably checked.

nice one indeed...making these river bluffs really increase your win rate I think (if you do them at the right times off course )
