On one hand it's kinda awesome too have noobs think they can raise or either call when they've hitted their low / med hand..
but on the other hand, they might just hit their kicker for a 2 pair! (noob talent), or they might even call your raise with a 74 and hit their straight! (Superhero talent).
in that case it kinda feels like you have been *** in the **, in other words a BB.
I think more of us have our experiences on this one, feel free to share so we can cry about it!

I definitly have found the way around this kind of player. First thing I do is make notes just in case I run into them in the future. Second thing I do is wait for my nuts and slow playem and let the donk hit two pair when you get your trips or str8. What I dont like is when they donk you and run. One thing to concider though is if they had odds to call in the first place or if you have given any indication of overly aggressive play. I was playing 3 handed the other fday on a 6 max table and this guy raised 8 consecutive pots and took 2 of my BB and 2 of my SB. I got fed up and called his 9th raise with 58 suited and flopped a str8 he immediatly pushed and turned over 666 and foutunatly for me the board didnt pair but anyway this can happen. Other times in the BB UTG raises 3X and everyone calls I must put in my 2 bucks with any two cards preflop when there is 21 dollers in the pot. Even 72 offsuit

I'll try to take notes, i do this sometimes and i should do it more. and yeah, if i hit my straight or high card flush i slow play.. and pretty much 7/10 noobs come out with nothing. It's just a patience game in that case. thats for talking in stakes 0.05/0.10 but when i move to 0.10/0.25 people start to play really tight, i try to check out people's stats before considering a CB or what so ever.. but it always turns out bad for me.. sometimes i even get the feelling my opponent didn't hit anything by checking his stats first so i CB on the turn, and that mostly turns out in a call and forces me to check fold.. the step between these stakes seem rather annoying personally. considering my style of playing is always T-A with stats around +20%VPiP around 12% PFR i should do just fine, but im not. Do you consider taking more particulair stats besides from the standard VPIP, PFR and total AF on Poker- tracker/holdem?

when it comes to poker software I am personally still in the stone age. I just take the notes the old way. I know that players of pokerinfo are really keen on these things so im sure someone can help you with this.
I never used to call even when pot odds were there and have folded alot of "would be winners" when I was getting the right price to call. Now when I call with good odds and make my hand people call me a donk but really it was early callers that they should be upset with. I play anywhere from .10-1.00 blinds and find .25 is not to bad and just wait for cards and keep my stack full till I get em. Yesterday I played two tables on Tilt 980 hands i only flopped set twice= what can you do. it was a pretty card dead session but still broke even. Just waiting for cards and letting other players make mistakes

I actually try to play with as many tables as i can right now (8 tables atm) and i'll just wait for my good cards, any 22+ A10+ ill just raise. i have the eager to call Axs for a small amount for a flush draw. With enough tables, theres more then enough to do, and there is no patients game so it suits me fine. I just changed to everest poker, im still trying to figure out how to make my tables as small as possible. I read there was such an option in your everest file somewhere, so i'm checking that out later. Pokerstars is still my favo at the moment..
the disadvantage of having that many tables to play on is, you can't really keep track of the play styles of people, atleast not if they stand above the others in some way (short / big stacked / lots of action / low action). untill now it worked just fine for me!

Most I ever played at Everest was 9 with no overlapping.Havnt played at Everest in a while but when I played there I didnt have any issues resizing to fit exactly to my screen. I have to say that when playing so many tables my results are not as good as normal. Alot worse actually. I have found 4 cash tables and 2 MTT's are just perfect. just enough time to keep an eye out for easy mony maniacs and make notes as well. I find that its alot harder to make money on the cash tables at stars so I play my MTT's there and my cash games at tilt. Watching the average pot size will tell you that tilt is much easier. Hey can you let me know how the action is on everest.

I found out how to make the tables smaller, i coudn't do it without adjusting something in the settings file located in everest, anyways.. i guess your right about playing lesser tables about all the reasons you said, its not really possible to read someone while having that many tables up and thats really important. my first thought about Everest compared to pokerstars is that there are less loose players willing the hand in money so not that many bored gamers that feel like playing lots of hands.. i'm going to try to switch between pokerstars / everest to confirm that one. I'm not really found of any tournaments to be honest .. to many poor players going all in streak and such, taking to long untill its your turn .. etc, i'm sticking to the 6 max NL.
How are you playing these days? my biggest flaw is that i'm just to thrilled to play .. can't get my disipline to keep my patients these days.. making me lose.

Do you use any software for statistics like PokerTracker or Holdem manager? I started using that some time ago and it really improved my playing.

A little trick ive been using latly is playing while watching TV. I would only reccommend early-mid stages of a tourny or low stakes cash games while dividing your attention.LOL. Sports seems to be a good fit for me. Also streching and so forth while your waiting for cards can be helpful too. If it gets too boring mabye take a small break? sometimes I will open a single table sitngo if the action on my tables seems to be moving slow or if Im card dead.

hehe yeah, thats something to do while playing poker .. but, i actually just thought about if you actually play like 4 tables at the same time, playing TAG, not to many risks. you might even be pulling off like, $20 each hour or something, that is atleast if you play correctly. Thats rather good compared to playing loose and not be sure of keeping in the positive.

bart,

about the stats, I use:

VPIP/PFR/3bet/fold to 3bet/AF
cbet/fold to cbet/turnbet/fold to turnbet/went to showdown

Bart it seems like you tend to CB once and then give up, i.e. check the next street. This is not the best way to play against loose calling stations that play on the low stakes, as they tend to call 1 cbet extremely loose (overcards, gutshot) but fold a lot more if you fire a second barrel. So if you for example decide to check the flop, bet the turn, you should almost always also bet the river as your turn bet will be called very loosely.

Some calling stations will almost always call to the river (they want to see all the cards), against these players you should fire 3 barrels, i.e. cbet the flop, turn and river, this is very profitable. If the fish is also a loose rivercaller, then don`t cbet at all but valuebet very light, i.e. with middle pair you can bet 3 streets.

Hope this helps, in the end you should make money if you play TAG, as you`ll often have position versus a bad player with a worse hand (on average), so the only way not to make money is to accidently play in an optimal way for them, i.e. cbet once and then give up.
