I am stuggling a bit with low stakes rebuy tournies and wanted to know if anyone had any strategy they use to cash in these? $1.00-$3.50

Most people seem to believe that you need to be very agressive, do a rebuy as soon as you`ve lost a chip to double your stack and take a lot of all-in gambles to try to build a descent stack in the rebuy period, at least 5 times the starting stack sizes.

From what I`ve experienced, people tend to overdo this (specially at low stakes) and move all-in to light, so I`d play a little tighter and get my chips in as a favorite most of the time.

Yeah well I usually rebuy right offf the bat so I can compete with the alliner that double up with junk in the firt couple hands then hopefull 4x my starting stack and try to add on to it before break. At break I add on and then better play usually starts. So far this method seems to work well to cash.

And how many rebuys you think is the top in unlimited rebuys tourneys?

I rebuy right away then add on at break. If i dont do well with my starting 2X stack i do not keep rebuying.

I think that depends on your budget! But i agree with Whateverman that a rebuy right away and an add on is the way to go.

well I guess if you think you have an edge over the remaining players you should rebuy (if you`re bankroll allows for that Cool)

Don't play in rebuy tourneys

Players tend to play too loose and just keep rebuying

Way too frustrating for me

well people keep pushing and keep pushing with junk no matter what your bound to lose. if you have AA and 3 people call with junk which always happens the only way you ever win the pot is if you trip you ace or get the 4 card flush on. Im a very frustrated player especially on Ipoker sites. I am cashing but it seems only the true donks are winning. It seems that no matter what its a bingo fest even after the rebuy period. Im getting 10000 called with gunshots on the turn bet for a river st8. So I figure ill move up stakes. fist 10.00 buy in 4000 guaretee. I get JJ and i have to 3 bet it because if not i will get 10 callers. flop comes 227. I figure no ones calling with a 2 so i bet get raised, money goes in 3 way pot. My JJ vs Q7 vs 10 7. Are you kidding me. this is 10 buyin freezeout and my raise get called by this and then pushed into pot. of course the turn is another 7 for those two donkys split my chips and my 10.00 buy in out the window. It seems I always get my money in good and never win. Its to the point where I have to fold AK in early position which is absolutly pathetic. Dont really know what t o do now but I think im going back to cash games.

I see yeah it can be frustrating when the donks get lucky, but on the long term those are the players you make your money from so I don`t mind, I love to play against donks calling my raises with T7 and other junk Money mouth

Anyway, what site are you planning to play on and what limit?

Played a bit on UB. Threw 20 bucks in my account cause it was empty I actually final tabled the Pokerho radio Buy in and im supposed to get autoreged into the Aruba package tourny. It would be nice to win that. also played in the Sniper 6K that was running at the same time and cashed in that too. So I was feeling good I Quadroupled my chincy deposit and headed for the .10-.25 tables. I was really grindiing it out for a couple days at this stakes usually making about 6 bucks an hour over two tables. It was very boring. but saw my balance at 120 so I moved up to .50 pfff  sat down with 50 3rd hand I call a 3 bet with 66 in late. flop 6xK money goes in and he has KK. How unlucky is that. So I go for a smoke and brush it off. Sit back down 10 hands in i get AA. sweet right.. wrong..

1 raise 1 call so - I reraise heavy and get 1 call flop was like 274 or something like that so I bet pot he reraises all in I call and I feel I did a great job with my hand because he turns up 99 of course the river is 9 and Im back to square one. Seems I cant win. If I play to low stakes its stupid crazy and when I play a little higher I dont have enough of a roll to sustain bad beats. I think I am going to stick it out at .10-.25 give myself a goal of 1000. when I reach that I'm going to go to .50-1.00 I know that I;m playing good cause I always get my money in with way the best hand so its just a matter of having the backup to keep on it.

that sucks dude, I play 0.25-0.50 at UB, started with $500. Im planning to move up to 0.50-1.00 when I reach $1500 and go back to 0.25-0.50 when I drop below $1000 (hopefully that won`t happen ). Im on $1100 now so should get there in a few weeks. When I reach $3000 im moving to 1-2 and back to 0.5-1 when I drop below $2000.

If you`re on 0.10-0.25 I would stay there until you reach $500, then move up and move back down if you drop below $250.

Do you use Holdem manager or pokertracker?

No I dont have any of the tools of the trade but am going to look into it soon. I had a free trial version of one before but never really had a chance to get into it before it expired. Im going to be busy for a couple weeks but Im getting a new CPU and Ive decided to get some tools to help my game so I know who im up against. I think the recent shopwdown option will definetly help because sometimes you just dont know if players are pushing their stack with TPTK or a great set and this will help for that I think. When I start back ive decided that I refuse to go broke. Im going to take your advise with the 500 move up. 250 move down deal. seems to make good sense.

My time will come..

I think the statistics you can pull from HM/PT gives you a pretty decent edge over other players so I would definitely get it if you want to make money...what`s also great is that you can buy like 300K hands for $10 or something so you don`t even need to play against the same opponents for ages to get some reliable statistics

Rebuy tournaments on UB aren't bad, and they added like 20 more small ones. I def. rebuy first and try to donk or win my way to getting a stack ... only till I get one, then I'll play tight till end or rebuy period. For example Ill rebuy and get 3k, and if i can manage to get to like 8 or 9k...I'll tighten up, from ther eon out and add on in thefirst break. You gotta be willing to spend 6x the intial tourney buy in. For rebuy , and add on...if not, blinds usually are faster and donkeys and ppl with big bankrolls will try to rebuy their way to success during this period and it will be hard to stand a chance against these ppl.

yeah I think that`s the way to do it, but I think some ppl overdo it and go all-in to light in rebuy phase to try to get a big stack

I see players doing 5 or 6 re buys. They get a marginal hand and move all in. They must have a nice bankroll to do that.
