Fourth raise means Aces.....sometimes

Well as you know, usually when you face a fourth raise, it means someone has aces.

But in the lower limits, sometimes funny or/and bad things happens.

The other day i find myself with KK on the button. A guy, UTG, was playing very aggressively, he raises 5bb to which i respond with a raise of 15bb.

He goes all in, i call.

He flips Q3 suited, and immediatly flops trips, no K to save me on the turn and the river so there i go.

How about you guys, what weird cards have you faced?

I`ve seen players go all-in with lots of random cards, I remember one guy had 73o. But most of the time players have QQ+/AK.

Sometimes I see players with really good stats (19/16/3.0 or smth similar) shove full 100BB stack or even call a shove with hands like J8s. But that's everyday life in microzzz I guess...

well in micro-limits hard to tell much of anything. But if you're playing higher limits, it's less and less the case that the fourth-raise means aces. So many aggressive players are now flatting to trap. When they flat, I get a lot less comfortable than when I get four and five bet.

Maybe thet have a good read, or the all in player stack is small. Having good stats and playing poorly doesn't mix, unless he is on tilt or multi tabling and pressed the wrong button (guilty )

Maybe they also have tracker software and are responding accordingly.

C'mon, you certainly don't need any super mega reads in micros. Just play your cards and that's it. Anyway I see too many people going over-tricky, especially in FTP's rush poker, and I highly doubt they are winning much because of their tricks. Traping with AA, floating with air on 2 streets and raising/betting the river - yeah right...

While i agree that you don't need to overanalyze a given situation, i disagre about the reads.

Usually is something simple, but if you don't pay attention, you will regret it.

I have to agree with him for the most part. On those limits you just play the cards, anything fancy is unnecessary. Today i raised 4BB for 1/4 of my stack with QQ, the SB called (1/3 his stack). The flop is 77J, i move all in, he calls and shows K7s...after the hand i asked him how could he call with that and he said i didn't move all in so...

Another game i'm on the BB with 34, UTG limps and everyone folds to me. I check, the flop is 223. I move all in, bad move i know, he calls and shows 83s....we split the pot and again i ask, you called with that(preflop) and he says, you called too and i'm like, i was the BB. Today was a hard day.

Wow. Ther first one, well no words are needed. The second one though, its was poorly played by both of you i'm afraid. With those hands on the BB, you should only risk it with 2 pair or better.

Regular tight players on high/middle stakes cash games, (Deep-stack with 100-200BB) only call
ALLIN with AA....and play ALLIN with KK if have ONLY limpers!

Well it depends on the stack of the player who made the all in. If he is down to 10BB, his hand range is quite big, so you can call it with pocket pairs from AA to QQ quite comfortably.
